  3. Community Psychiatric Nurse Visits Year 14 HSC

On Wednesday 7th February Loretta Harper visited our 14 Health & Social Care students to talk about her experience to date working as a Community Psychiatric Nurse. She shared some fascinating information on her career and the sort of qualities and skills required mentioning the importance of being a good listener and being non-judgemental. She spoke also on various issues relating to the Health & Social Care A Level specification such as the support she offers to her service users, multi-disciplinary teams and effective communication. Pupils asked some interesting questions for example on how she copes with the challenges in her job. We really appreciated Loretta taking time out of her busy day to visit New-Bridge. Pupils remarked afterwards on her obvious passion for her job and thoroughly enjoyed listening to her personal experiences in the world of health and social care.
